Have you ever used a Profile Frame on Facebook to share your support for a cause close to your heart?
It may have seemed like an insignificant move to you, however, a Facebook Frame can make all the difference in building brand awareness and allowing your audience to share their support for your cause.
Here’s a guide on how to create your own Facebook Frame for your brand.
When is a good time to create a frame?
If your brand is hosting an upcoming event, celebrating a cause, running a fundraiser or starting a campaign, all are great reasons to create a Facebook Frame to get your audience involved. A well-designed frame can do brand awareness wonders for a short term marketing ploy for no cost.
Creating a frame:
Firstly, you’ll need to design your own PNG frame. We recommend using Photoshop or InDesign, but you can use whichever design software you are comfortable with. In designing your frame, consider that it will need to work for both circle and square profile pics to cater for both mobile and desktop use. If possible, try to design a frame that can be seen in both crops. Once you’ve created a nice frame in the recommended dimensions of 1080 x 1080 and have ensured the centre of your frame is transparent, you’re good to go!
Facebook has a dedicated studio, Frame Studio, which allows you to set up your frame. To create a frame, select “Open Frame Studio”, which shall bring you to the following screen.
In this screen, you are able to drag and drop your PNG file and select whether it is to be used for profile pictures or your Facebook camera, which is essentially used for Facebook stories.
After uploading your frame, edit or reposition as you feel necessary. You may then allocate the frame to the relevant Facebook Page. You will need to create a name for your Frame, publishing date and add keywords.
Once you complete this process, your Frame will be submitted to Facebook for their approval. After this step, you will be unable to make any edits – so make sure it’s exactly as you’d like it before you submit this! Unfortunately, Facebook is unable to provide you with the data on how many people use your frame on their profile photo, however, you can gauge a rough estimate based on those who interacted with your frame and viewing their profile images.
